Time for a festive Word List?
Word Searches that we made; right click to save or print:
- Frosty theme (for older students)
- Festive season (for younger students)
Or add your own words:
- Click on ‘Own list’ and follow the instructions to create a festive list Or watch the video (1.5 minutes)
- Print out the Word Search. And/or, click on ‘Set work’ and follow the screens through, selecting the new festive list under ‘My Lists’
- Students can then access the set work from either their dashboard or via their ‘My Set Work’ tab (main menu bar)
For those who like unjumbling words, use the game ‘Jumbled’ in the Spell games tab. Quick tip to students; spot the letters that might be working together like the double ‘l’ in ‘bells’ and the ‘oy’ in ‘’joy’.

- No-one seems to use Wordshark on a IWB!
Did you know?
- In Hawaii Santa is called Shaka Santa, in Poland Święty Mikołaj, In the Netherlands Sinterklaas, and in Germany Der Weihnachtsmann.
- In Wordshark, ‘Peep’ within games can be turned off for a whole group or individual students. Go to Manage Groups and use the ‘More’ option to select individual students.
- New year strange behaviour?
- In Denmark people throw plates at the front door of their family and friends for good luck.
- Some say you should fill your wallet with cash for the new year, to ensure financial prosperity!
